At The Dipping Tank Company we believe that rainwater storage should be able to be enjoyed as equally as planting and landscaping. Enhancing an area with a new dynamic.
Our Dipping Tanks transform a garden necessity into something to be celebrated. With it's stylish design, harvested rainwater becomes a focal point of the garden rather than disappearing from it.
Rainwater harvesting is a simple and sustainable idea and yet for too long the way we do this has been treated as purely functional. We think there is a better way.
Our Story
The Dipping Tank Company was founded by Andrew in 2021 as a pet project alongside full time employment as a Design Engineer. When redesigning his own garden in 2020 he found there wasn’t a rainwater harvesting product that would suit the space and style of his garden. He set about designing his own. His friends and family had seen his creation and asked him to make one for them. Continuing to develop the product and accessories as a passion project, he decided to create the company officially and showcase The Dipping Tank Company at his local Flower show - Gardeners World Autumn Fair in September 2023. After a great response from the public, he continued developing the product by adding additional accessories including different Fascias, Planting Shelves, Waterfalls and other innovative products. These products were all developed from using the original Dipping Tank in his garden and creating accessories for his own use. The following year he signed up to more flower shows, dragging his Dad out of retirement for help, the company and customer base began to grow. In October 2024 Andrew left his Design Engineer role and went full time with the business, and it has continued to thrive ever since with the support of family, friends and local businesses.
Since then, the company has attended many of the major flower shows across the country including RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Gardeners World Live. The Dipping Tanks have featured in many award-winning show gardens and boarders which add a sustainable water feature and increase a garden’s biodiversity.
What started as a hobby project for his own garden has developed into a growing British business, built around quality engineering, innovative design and a genuine passion for horticulture.
Key Staff Members
Andrew – Managing Director and Founder
With a background rooted in engineering, computer aided design and a vast experience in fabrication processes, Andrew has combined his longstanding love of horticulture with his professional career to make something truly original for the horticultural industry.
Sean - Workshop Manager
With over 20 years of experience in high-quality fabrication Sean plays a fundamental role in bringing each Dipping Tank from raw aluminium sheet to the finished product. His experience and craftsmanship are central to the quality of our tanks, with careful attention given to construction, fabrication and finishing, you will struggle to see higher quality anywhere else.
Alex - Sales & Operations Manager
Alex's role is centred around ensuring the experience our customers receive matches the quality of our products. Using his background in Sales Directorship and over 10 years in customer facing positions, Alex is making sure the company keeps up its high level of customer satisfaction. From the first enquiry through to delivery and beyond, Alex has a true passion for pre-sales and after-sales experiences. Together we aim to maintain the personal approach to every order which has always been important to us.
Craftsmanship in every detail
We are still a small, hands-on team. We know our products, we care about our customers, and we take pride in every tank that leaves us. As we continue to grow, our ambition is to remain true to those foundations while bringing the Dipping Tank Company to more gardens and public spaces across the UK.
We believe that quality should be apparent without needing to be explained. From the materials selected to the construction and finishing of each Dipping Tank, we take a meticulous approach to what we make. Every detail has a purpose, and every product is created with the intention of providing years of reliable service.
We are immensely proud to be a British company. We operate in the United Kingdom, close to Cambridge with the design and manufacture our products all in-house. We take great pride in our products and would welcome anyone to take a closer look at the finer details and see how meticulous we really are. We still work on new innovative products regularly and release them after extensive testing.
